Deal | Intel Core i7-12700K discounted to under $170 on Newegg
While the Intel Core i7-12700K launched over two years ago, its gaming performance isn't far behind the company's latest 14th-gen processors. Now, it can be had for as little as $169.98 thanks to Newegg's "Combo Up" promotional campaign.
The processor goes for $244.99 when bought alone, but once you also add a double-shot PBT keycap set to the cart, the total drops to just under $170. On the other hand, one could also combo the CPU with a 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory kit, in which case the total comes out to $184.98.
The Intel Core i7-12700K is an Alder Lake processor with eight P-cores boosting up to 5 GHz and four E-cores that can reach up to 3.8 GHz. It runs on the company's latest LGA 1700 platform, meaning that it's compatible with all Intel 600- and 700-series motherboards, although multiplier-based overclocking is limited to the Z690 and Z790 chipsets.
The Core i7-12700K is a fairly hot-running chip and doesn't include a cooler in the box, so consider pairing it with a decent cooler, such as the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE.
