Fujifilm X100VI orders land in the hands of customers ahead of expected March delivery date as hype train builds momentum
Soon after the recent launch of the Fujifilm X100VI, there were concerns that Fujifilm would not be able to meet rising demand for the compact APS-C camera. While these fears have not yet been entirely dispelled, it seems as though Fujifilm is already delivering the cameras to customers' hands, indicating a healthy production capacity.
So far, at least two people — one in Italy and one another in Belgium, whose post has since been removed — on the r/Fujifilm subreddit have posted about receiving their X100VI cameras, and a number of users in the comments indicate that their local Fujifilm retailers have told them that the cameras will be available at some point this week.
When Fujifilm initially announced the X100VI, it was predicted that the cameras would start shipping out to buyers in early March, but it appears as though production is far enough ahead of schedule that the cameras are landing in buyers' hands a week or two early.
It should be noted, though, that the Fujifilm X100VI is still listed as unavailable on the Amazon pre-order page, and it is unclear when stock will return. As we reported late last week, the Fujifilm X100VI is breaking sales and pre-order records left, right, and centre, even seemingly surpassing the popularity of the Fujifilm X100V.
Fuji fans, however, are hopeful that the shift towards Chinese manufacturing will help avoid some of the availability issues faced by the X100V.
If you're looking for a powerful, capable camera with retro appeal, check out the Fujifilm X-S20 for $1,299 on Amazon, or its more capable big brother, the Fujifilm X-T5, also available on Amazon for $1,699.
