The Samsung Galaxy Book4 series will finally be available in select markets including the U.S., the U.K., France and Germany, from February 26. The lineup consists of three models – Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Galaxy Book4 Pro and Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 – and was first introduced last December. It was officially launched at the start of the year but only in South Korea. With its latest Intel Core Ultra processors, lightweight design, premium AMOLED display and 14- and 16-inch options, the Galaxy Book4 seems well poised to challenge Apple’s current Macbook Pro models. Check out the full specs for the lineup here.
The Galaxy Book4 Ultra is a 16 inch laptop while the Book4 Pro is 14 inches. The Book4 Pro 360 is a 360° convertible design available in both 14- and 16-inch sizes, and includes the S Pen stylus. All three models inherit the Galaxy Book3 Ultra’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X touch display with a 2880x1800 resolution, 400 nits of brightness, 48~120Hz variable refresh rate as well as anti-reflection coating and automatic adjustment based on ambient light.
The Galaxy Book4 Ultra features Intel’s latest Core Ultra 9/7 (aka Meteor Lake) processor paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPU, whereas the Pro models have the Intel Core Ultra 7/5 processors with the integrated Intel Arc GPU. Samsung claims that the laptops will excel at generative tasks like image and video editing thanks to the AI-oriented optimisations in Intel’s latest chips.
Samsung has increased charging speed to 140 W on the Book4 Ultra (65 W on the Pro), and also enhanced its multi-device connectivity features that allow seamless task switching between phone and laptop. With these and the rest of its feature set, the Galaxy Book4 series presents as a serious contender to the current Macbook Pro lineup.
The Galaxy Book4 will be available on the respective regional Samsung websites starting February 26. The prices have not been disclosed yet, but for reference, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra with Core Ultra 7 processor, 1 TB storage and 32 GB RAM retails for the equivalent of $2,400 in Korea, while the 16-inch Book4 Pro 360 and the 14-inch Book4 Pro with the same configuration cost $1,930 and $1,600 respectively.
