It seems that Intel has developed a new gaming handheld that will soon launch under various names. Previously seen bearing 'Tulpar' branding, the white label product has previously leaked as the Emdoor EM-GP080MTL with an 8-inch and 1200p display, LPDDR5X RAM and a powerful Intel Meteor Lake processor, among other features.

A few days ago, Intel teased a new gaming handheld produced by Tulpar, a relatively unknown company that primarily sells gaming laptops. In summary, the chip manufacturer shared three hands-on photos taken during Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice 2024. While neither Intel nor Tulpar have revealed any specifics yet, it was presumed that the unnamed gaming handheld would rely on the Meteor Lake architecture, given its graphical prowess compared to other recent Intel processors.

However, some VideoCardz sleuthing has shed some light on the device's origins. Specifically, it appears that Tulpar has sourced a white-label product likely created by Emdoor. Although Emdoor itself has not officially revealed the device either yet, Notebook Italia did through a video it posted in October 2023. As the screenshot below shows, the device was referred to as the EM-GP080MTL, which Emdoor stated featured a Meteor Lake-H processor and an Arc Graphics 5 GPU.

Unfortunately, the exact processor powering the EM-GP080MTL is unclear. For now, Intel has released five Meteor Lake-H processors ranging from the Core Ultra 5 125H to the Core Ultra 9 185H. However, none feature an iGPU that Intel describes as 'Arc Graphics 5'. Instead, Intel integrates Arc 7-core or 8-core options, with no 5-core alternative available at the time of writing. Potentially, 'Arc Graphics 5' could refer to an Arc A5 series discrete solution like the Arc A530M, although its minimum 65 W TGP makes this unlikely within a gaming handheld form factor.

Additionally, the same leak highlighted that Emdoor intends to offer the EM-GP080MTL with 32 GB LPPDR5X RAM and an 8-inch display. Like the Steam Deck, the EM-GP080MTL has a 16:10 aspect ratio, albeit with a 1,920 x 1,200 native resolution. Other details remain unknown though, including a release date for Tulpar's version or the EM-GP080MTL if Emdoor offers the device itself. Either way, it seems that there could be multiple options available later this year sporting the same design, which would help offer more competition among the Meteor Lake gaming handheld space, of which the ONEXPLAYER X1 and MSI Claw are the only members currently.
