Delta v1.5 brings local multiplayer and more to popular iOS emulator
Delta is perhaps the most popular console emulator for iOS. Its latest update brings some solid features that make retro gaming even better on the platform.
Delta 1.5 now supports local multiplayer for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), and Nintendo 64 (N64) cores. Retro gamers can now play locally on an iPhone or iPad with up to 3 other friends (4 players total).
In the spirit of multiplayer gaming, Delta 1.5 also brings support for controllers that aren't Made for iPhone (MFi) compatible. Specifically, Delta 1.5 can connect to Joy Cons and other Bluetooth controllers. AirPlay is also supported, so games can be streamed to an AirPlay-compatible device for big screen gaming.
Delta's sync features have also been updated and tweaked. Most of these changes are on the backend, such as resolving conflicts between cheats and controller skin syncs, syncing the GameSave.sha1 hash between multiple devices, more detailed logs and error messages for debugging, and more.
Other changes include dependency udpates (specifically updating the GoogleSignIn dependency to 5.0.2), renaming some menu options, and other minor improvements.
Delta is an emulator for iOS that can play NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS games (as well as Sega Genesis games for Patreon supporters). It can be installed on iOS by sideloading the Delta .ipa file through a service like AltServer and is available on the AltStore.
