After promising a release "in several months" for a good two years, Tesla's new Tire Repair Kit has finally appeared in stock in its online store.
Priced at $125, the upgraded Tesla Tire Repair Kit comes with an 80 psi air compressor with a flow rate of 25 L/min and a connector for the 12V port.
The Tire Repair Kit comes with the usual bottle of sealant and Tesla says that it is rated to fox holes in the thread of your tires that are 6mm or less in diameter. Again as usual, Tesla advises that the new tire kit is only for emergency repairs so tires fixed with the sealant and then inflated shouldn't be driven more than 62 miles, one advice that is pretty often ignored in emergencies.

Unfortunately, the new Tire Repair Kit comes with inflation and not of the air pumping type, but rather with the one accumulated since 2021 when Tesla first said it will launch it "in a few months."
The 80 psi air compressor that shouldn't be operated for more than half an hour, plus the sealant and the box they go into are now more than twice the price of their predecessors.
The 2024 Tesla Tire Repair Kit is priced at $125 or a few times over what more basic such kits fetch on Amazon. It does come with the Tesla logo, though, as well as a display that shows the tire pressure.
To avoid the inflated Tire Repair Kit price, Tesla also offers a new Tire Protection Plan at $35 a pop for a year that doesn't include rim damage.
