Anbernic RG35XX 2024: New gaming handheld revealed in pre-release leak
Retro Handhelds has delivered early information about a new Anbernic device. Predictably, the device is another gaming handheld, with the company having released the RG35XX H, RG35XX Plus and RG556 in the last few months alone. Surprisingly, Retro Handhelds alleges that Anbernic is returning to the RG35XX that it launched in early 2023.
According to the website, Anbernic will append ‘2024’ to distinguish the new RG35XX from the older model. Based on Retro Handheld’s disclosure, it seems that the RG35XX 2024 will share just as many components with the RG35XX Plus as the RG35XX, though. On the one hand, the RG35XX 2024 is rumoured to feature a 3.5-inch IPS display that resolves at 640 x 480 pixels. Additionally, the company display will be set within a 117 x 81 x 22 mm chassis that weighs 186 g.
Moreover, the RG35XX 2024 is expected to carry over its predecessor’s 2,600 mAh battery capacity, down from 3,300 mAh in the RG35XX Plus. On the other hand, Retro Handhelds alleges that the RG35XX 2024 will inherit the latter’s Allwinner H700 chipset and 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. In other words, the RG35XX 2024 should be powerful enough to emulate most games from SEGA Dreamcast, PlayStation 1 and PlayStation Portable libraries. Unfortunately, Retro Handhelds has not obtained launch pricing or a release date yet, though.
