Anbernic has now officially revealed the RG35XX SP, a 3.5-inch gaming handheld modelled after the Game Boy Advance SP. Soon available in multiple colours, the Anbernic RG35XX SP has already been shown to be powerful enough to emulate games from PS1, PSP, N64, and Dreamcast libraries.

Anbernic has just released the RG28XX. However, it is already ploughing on with another RG35XX variant. To recap, the company introduced the RG35XX 2024 earlier this year with the same Allwinner H700 chipset that powers the RG35XX Plus (curr. $85.99 on Amazon). Now, it has revealed more details about the RG35XX SP, a homage of sorts to the classic Game Boy Advance SP.

For reference, Anbernic showed the RG35XX SP in late March, details of which we have covered separately. Initially, another leaked video of the device appeared online. Following that, Anbernic itself offered up a short introductory video, both of which we have embedded below.

Like other recent RG35XX handhelds, Anbernic claims that the RG35XX SP can emulate Game Boy Advance and Neo Geo games, as well as more complex titles from Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1 and PlayStation Portable libraries. Ultimately, we recommend waiting for independent reviews before passing judgment on the gaming handheld's emulation capabilities. It is clear that the RG35XX SP will support HDMI output though, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity. Presumably, Anbernic will release the RG35XX SP later this month, although it has not confirmed as much yet.
