AOKZOE A2 Ultra gaming handheld gets its pricing revealed

AOKZOE officially announced the A2 Ultra at the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 event last month. While the company did reveal everything about the gaming handheld at that event, the pricing details were yet to be confirmed. Well, now, it’s available for pre-order in China.

The AOKZOE A2 Ultra with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage is priced at CNY 4,999 (around $692). Its upgraded variant with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage costs CNY 6,399 (about $886). The top-end model with 2 TB of storage costs CNY 7,199 (around $996).

In our launch coverage, we noted that the new AOKZOE handheld gaming PC is going head to head against the MSI Claw, which is also available with the same Intel Meteor Lake processors. Now, while we don’t have the international pricing of the A2 Ultra yet, it has a higher launch price than what MSI’s offering starts at in China, which is CNY 4,599 (about $636).

This could possibly mean that the global pricing of the AOKZOE A2 Ultra will also be higher than what the MSI Claw costs in the international markets. To fill you in, the Claw starts at $699, while the maxed-out variant is $799. In comparison, you can get the better-performing Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme at $699 and even lower when it’s on sale.

Of course, MSI did release a new firmware for the Claw, which improved the gaming performance in some popular games. However, the overall performance still seems to be lower than that of AMD-equipped gaming handhelds. We are yet to get proper benchmarks for AOKZOE A2 Ultra, so it’s unclear whether it’s a better-performing Intel Meteor Lake handheld gaming PC.
