AYN Technologies has had a busy week teasing the release of its next gaming handheld. Only yesterday, the company confirmed that the device would be called the Odin2 Mini, having shared a few tidbits in the days prior. Now though, it has revealed all key specifications, as well as launch pricing for two memory configurations.
Surprisingly, the Odin2 Mini features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset as the Odin2 (curr. $449 on Amazon). As such, the Odin2 Mini should be capable of emulating all games from the PlayStation 2 or Nintendo Wii downwards at 3x native resolution. This should be true of the Odin2 Mini Base and Pro models too, which come with 8 GB of RAM and 12 GB of RAM, respectively.
Based on the image below, both variants feature identical LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0, 128 GB of storage for the Base and 256 GB of storage for the Pro. Moreover, the Odin2 Mini has a 5-inch Mini LED display that outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a 5,000 mAh battery within a 198 x 85.8 x 19.5 mm housing that weighs just 320 g. The Odin2 Mini will start at $339 with a carry bag and screen protector included. Currently, AYN Technologies hopes to begin selling the Odin2 Mini this summer.
