Anbernic has now started selling the RG34XX globally with broadly the same hardware as the RG35XX SP (curr. $89.99 on Amazon). For context, the RG34XX lines up as Anbernic's eleventh gaming handheld release of the year, excluding its K101 Plus and RG35XX SP refreshes. In summary, the RG34XX ships with the following hardware:
- 3.4-inch IPS display, 720 x 480 pixel resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio.
- Allwinner H700 chipset
- 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM
- 3,500 mAh battery
- Bluetooth 4.2/Wi-Fi 5 connectivity
Thus, the RG34XX shares all key hardware with Anbernic's RG35XX series, save for a 0.1-inch smaller display. Arguably, the biggest selling point of the RG34XX is its nostalgia factor, which leans fully into the Game Boy Advance (GBA) and its aesthetics. As Retro Game Corps notes though, the GBA's ergonomics may be a negative for those with larger hands. With that being said, both Retro Game Corps and Retro Handhelds consider the RG34XX to be the 'perfect Game Boy Advance' in many senses.
It is worth emphasising that the Allwinner H700 is powerful enough to emulate systems like the Dreamcast, PlayStation 1 (PS1) and PSP, among others. Currently, the RG34XX can be ordered from Anbernic directly for $63.99 with a 32 GB MicroSD card in transparent green, transparent red, black and indigo colour options. However, the device can also be configured with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB MicroSD cards for $71.99, $78.99 and $93.99, respectively.
