The Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be officially unveiled by the company, but the renowned accessory manufacturer Dbrand has already showcased its protective case for the gaming handheld.

Besides revealing the possible launch timeline of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company has been very silent about the gaming handheld. The story is different for accessory manufacturers. A good number of the handheld's accessories have surfaced in the last few weeks, with the latest one coming from a renowned manufacturer, Dbrand.

Called the Switch 2 Killswitch case, Dbrand has officially given a 360-degree look to its protective case with the handheld inside it. The exact measurements weren't revealed on the website. However, the device inside the case appears to be relatively larger than the current-gen OLED variant, something that previous accessory and mock-up model leaks have already suggested.

The Verge contacted the CEO of Dbrand, Adam Ijaz, and Ijaz confirmed that the company has the "actual dimensions" and its protective case isn't based on "educated guess." Ijaz adds that the Nintendo Switch 2 will measure 270 mm wide, 116 mm tall, and 14 mm thick.

To compare, the Nintendo Switch OLED measures 242 mm wide, 102 mm tall, and 13.9 mm thick. A recent comparison with the mock-up model of the upcoming gaming handheld has already shown that the screen size will be larger than the OLED variant. However, it's unclear whether the display on the new model will be an IPS or OLED panel.

Other than that, the 360-degree render on Dbrand's website shows the rumored C button that will seemingly be added to the Nintendo Switch 2. This new button is on the right Joy-Con, under the Home button. Ijaz didn't clarify what this button is for, but it's thought to be a "capture button."

Of course, Nintendo's N64 controller from 1996 also had C buttons on the top. Those were there to let the players control the camera in 3D games. Speculations also suggest that the C button on the Switch 2 could be a "connect" button, seemingly to bridge two handhelds. However, Dbrand's Ijaz did say that the Joy-Cons are "magnetically attached" to the handheld, and there's a dedicated "ejection button."

Another addition that can be seen in the 360-degree render is a second USB-C port. This should allow charging the device while it's on a tabletop mode (Anker Nano 65 W curr. $39.99 on Amazon). That said, Dbrand doesn't seem to know the exact release date, but the Killswitch case for the Nintendo Switch 2 is planned to be released in late March or early April of 2025.
