Nintendo is expected to release the successor to the first-gen Switch in the first half of 2025. As per the past leaks, the upcoming gaming handheld will bring a couple of enhancements over its predecessor. A larger screen size is one of them, which would eventually lead to a larger form factor than the original.
Now, a new leak corroborates the size rumor. Two alleged Nintendo Switch 2 accessories have surfaced on Alibaba, which is an online marketplace that connects businesses with suppliers. Among the alleged accessories is a protective tempered glass, and one of the images uploaded by the seller appears to be comparing the screen size of the first-gen gaming handheld and the upcoming one.
As the image shows, the tempered glass that's allegedly for the Switch 2 is comparatively larger than the one for the first-gen gaming handheld. It's not clear whether the comparison is with the standard or the OLED variant (available on Amazon), but the size difference suggests that it could be the latter.
Regardless, the rumored larger screen size from this alleged Switch 2 tempered glass listing matches what the previous reports have suggested. To fill you in, the upcoming Nintendo gaming handheld is expected to feature an 8-inch display, larger than the 6.2-inch screen of the original and 7-inch of the OLED variant.
Another accessory that has popped up in the same marketplace is a protective carrying bag. The dimensions of this don't really say anything concrete, but it measures 290 x 135 x 45 mm. Here, the 45 mm thickness of the carrying case includes the cushion that's inside, and regardless of how powerful hardware the upcoming handheld features, it won't be 45 mm thick as the original was 13.9 mm thick. However, the length and the width of the carrying bag does suggest a larger form factor than the original.
