GPD has updated the Win 4 gaming handheld. With the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the 2025 gaming handheld stands as a competitor to the recently announced OneXFly F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3. It will also go against the upcoming handhelds featuring the top-end Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU.
Besides the APU, not much has changed from the 2024 model. The 2025 Win 4 still has a 6-inch screen with a 60 Hz refresh rate, the same form factor, and the same cooling setup. Fortunately, there's still an OCuLink port, which will let you get better performance out of the gaming handheld with an eGPU setup.
Of course, thanks to the Radeon 890M iGPU, you won't really need an eGPU to get an enjoyable gaming experience out of this gaming handheld. For reference, in our gaming benchmarks, this RDNA 3.5 iGPU was anywhere between 7-18 % faster than the Radeon 780M that the last-gen handhelds like the ROG Ally and Legion Go (curr. $539.99 on Amazon) features.
Its battery didn't see an upgrade either. It's still a 45.62Wh unit. However, thanks to the efficiency improvements brought by the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the 2025 Win 4 should be able to offer better runtimes than the 2024 model. Other highlights include 32 GB of LPDDR5X of RAM, 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, and WiFi 6.
Pricing-wise, the 2025 GPD Win 4 is now available to pre-order on Indiegogo, and it costs $1,172. In comparison, the 2024 model with Ryzen 7 8840U goes for $851, and this price bump on the newer gaming handheld is quite expected as all the Strix Point products launched with more expensive price tags than their predecessors.
