Creative Technology has unveiled the Pebble Nova, new desktop speakers with a cosmic design, RGB lighting and a coaxial driver system.

Creative Technology has introduced another member to its Pebble series, the Pebble Nova, which expands the product range of desktop speakers and comes in its usual elegant and cosmic design. The sound quality is advertised as top-notch, which is also to be expected in view of the price tag, but only real-world testing can prove whether this is indeed the case.

A coaxial driver system with tweeters and woofers handles the sound output. The drivers are angled at 45 degrees so that they can be positioned on the desk and aimed directly towards the ears. For an even better sound experience, the Nova can be combined with the Sound Blaster X5 for high-resolution audio streaming.

In addition to streaming via Bluetooth 5.3, the Pebble Nova speakers also support USB audio playback and have a universal 3.5 mm AUX input on board. The Creative App provides access to the proprietary Acoustic Engine audio technologies, including Surround, Smart Volume, Bass, Dialog+ and Crystal Voice. It can also be used to control the RGB lighting in the speakers. Lastly, the speakers are supplied with a detachable base and stand.

The recommended retail price of the new Creative Pebble Nova is $279.99. This makes them significantly more expensive than the usual models in the Pebble series, such as the Pebble X for $85.49.
