Bose releases new SoundLink speaker with Bluetooth and USB C audio
Bose has presented a new SoundLink speaker, which it sells simply as the 'SoundLink Home Bluetooth Speaker'. Incidentally, the speaker debuted in China over a fortnight ago with a design that differed from past SoundLink products. At any rate, the SoundLink Home Bluetooth Speaker appears to float within its frame thanks to a fabric mesh that covers its internals.
For reference, the speaker measures 215.9 x 111.2 x 58.4 mm and weighs 875 g, which makes it relatively compact on the scheme of Bluetooth speakers. Unfortunately, Bose has not provided any details about the speaker's driver. Instead, it has confirmed that the speaker supports Bluetooth 5.3 with up to nine hours of battery life.

Alternatively, the SoundLink Home Bluetooth Speaker has a USB Type-C port for a wired audio connection. Moreover, the speaker has a built-in microphone for handling calls and voice assistant requests. Furthermore, two units can be paired to create a stereo effect.
Please note Bose intends the SoundLink Home Bluetooth Speaker to only be used at home. As such, the new speaker lacks any water or dust resistance, unlike the SoundLink Flex (curr. $149 on Amazon). Currently, Bose is only offering the SoundLink Home Bluetooth Speaker in China and North America. For reference, the company sells its new speaker for $219 in the US. It has not discussed availability for other markets yet, though.
