GPD is updating another of its popular gaming handhelds to AMD's Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5 architectures. This time, the company has revealed plans to update the GPD Win Mini, which gains faster RAM and M.2 2280 storage as well as Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APUs.

GPD is continuing to update its existing products to AMD's latest Ryzen APUs. This time, the company has outlined plans to upgrade the Win Mini, which it last refreshed with AMD Ryzen 5 8640U and Ryzen 7 8840U APUs at the start of the year (curr. $1,094.99 on Amazon). For context, GPD recently released new versions of the Win 4 and Win Max 2 with AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU.

By contrast, the Win Mini 2025 will be available with not just the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 but also the lesser Ryzen AI 9 365. For reference, the latter trails the former in both CPU and GPU benchmarks. Thus, we would expect GPD to charge a fair bit less for Ryzen AI 9 365 versions of the Win Mini 2025 than Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 variants. Even cheaper Ryzen 7 8840U variants should be available too, though.

According to GPD's product page, both Zen 5 APUs will be offered with 32 GB or 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. Incidentally, RAM now runs at 7,500 MT/s out of the box this time around; previously the Win Mini shipped with 6,400 MT/s RAM that could be manually overclocked to 7,500 MT/s. Moreover, GPD included M.2 2230 SSDs in the first two versions of the Win Mini.

However, it has pivoted to an M.2 2280 slot for the 2025 edition. Furthermore, the product page reports that the Win Mini 2025 is 35 g heavier, 4 mm taller and 1 mm thicker than previous models. Although it has not provided any explanations for these changes, it seems that the Win Mini 2025 may also contain an improved cooling solution. Unfortunately, GPD has not revealed how much the new version of the Win Mini costs, nor when it will begin shipping.
