Ayaneo is expected to launch its first Ryzen AI 9 HX 370-powered gaming handheld soon. So far, the company has confirmed a good number of aspects of the device, and now, it has shared the final teaser of the Ayaneo 3. One of the past teasers has already shown that it will come with a customizable ABXY layout, and the new one shows that the entire controller layout can be customized.
To be specific, the Ayaneo 3 will feature the Magic Module technology, which the company says has been under development for two years. At the core, it enables users to switch between different modules, offering the flexibility to customize the control and button layout according to the preferred playing style and games.
As for the modules themselves, there are several of them, and there's one that even has a touchpad. While Ayaneo hasn't confirmed it yet, these switchable modules seem to connect and stay in place via magnets. However, the company did confirm that the modules can be rotated, allowing for a truly customizable controller layout.
Other confirmed details about the Ayaneo 3 include availability in two different hardware configurations. Besides the one with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, there will be an option with the Ryzen 7 8840U. The former will stand as a more capable gaming handheld due to the Radeon 890M iGPU, while the latter will offer similar performance to the Z1 Extreme-equipped handhelds (Legion Go curr. $549 on Amazon).
There's no word on the exact launch date, but given that the final teaser is out, the Ayaneo 3 should be around the corner. Worth noting that in the official announcement, the company teased a live stream that's planned for December 26, which could share more details about the launch. It'll be interesting to see how well it stacks up in terms of price when compared to the Ryzen Z2 series gaming handhelds that are expected to be showcased at the coming CES 2025 event.
