Word on the grapevine strongly indicates Samsung will equip its Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally. The flagship phones are expected to be unveiled in the fourth week of January, and the vanilla Galaxy S25 has now made a trip to Geekbench.
The Geekbench listing showcases the Galaxy S25 with the model number "SM-S931N", likely for the Korean model. Onboard is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, evidenced by its higher 4.47 GHz clock speed, compared to the 4.32 GHz clock speed for the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite used on devices like the OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15 series. Also present is 12 GB of RAM, possibly hinting at the tested device being a 256 GB or 512 GB SKU.
Sadly, however, the performance of the tested devices leaves a lot to be desired. It only earns a single-core score of 2481 and a multi-core score of 8658. Those numbers make for disappointing reading—especially considering the higher clock speeds of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy—as other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices routinely score over 3000 and 9000 on the same tests respectively. That said, "For Galaxy" chipsets typically score lower than regular Snapdragon 8-series chipsets, thanks to Samsung's prioritization of efficiency over performance.
