Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy: New Geekbench listing confirms remarkably better clock speeds for Galaxy S25 Ultra SoC
A few days ago, we got our first glimpse at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy alongside an North American Galaxy S25 Ultra. Its clocks were a bit underwhelming, with its P-core cluster clocked at 4.19 GHz and E-cores at 2.9 GHz. In contrast, the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 runs at 4.32 GHz (P-cores) and 3.53 GHz (E-cores). A new listing now shows the final clocks of the Galaxy S25 Ultra's SoC.
The European version of the flagship, codenamed SM-S938B, has shown up on Geekbench. As expected, it runs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, but this time, its clock speeds are much higher. For starters, its P-core cluster runs at 4.47 GHz and E-cores at 3.53 GHz. These are likely the final clocks we could see on the retail Galaxy S25 Ultra when it launches early next year.
However, the impressive clock speed bump doesn't come with much of a single-core performance uplift. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy sample here scores 3,011 and 9,706 points in Geekbench 6.2' single and multi-core tests. The latter is remarkably higher than the first sample (9,080), but the former has stagnated. Nevertheless, the chip can easily go past 10,000 once it gets more optimizations and hits shelves. Unfortunately, Apple might still reign supreme in the single-core department until the 5.0 GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 drops next year.
