The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy has made its Geekbench debut. Its P-core and E-cores are noticeably lower than the regular version, which directly impacts the chip's performance.

We've seen the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in action alongside the OnePlus 13 and what looked like a Qualcomm Reference Device (QRD). While its score was nothing short of impressive (over 30% performance uplift), Apple managed to retake the lead with the A18 and A18 Pro. We now get to see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy in action alongside Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra.

It scores 3,096 and 9,080 points in Geekbench's single and multi-core tests, respectively. This isn't as high as the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which went as high as 3,296/10,049 in the same test. Of course, these numbers will only get better with time once the chips get more software optimizations. The Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S937U) variant in question packs 12 GB of RAM and runs Android 15.

A quick peek at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Galaxy Geekbench listing reveals slightly lower clock speeds for the P-core cluster (4.19 GHz vs 4.32 GHz on the regular version). Similarly, the E-core cluster is running at 2.90 GHz instead of 3.53 GHz. Geekbench's back-end code reveals the chip is able to maintain its boost clock fine without any throttling.

As mentioned earlier, the clocks speeds mentioned above are likely tentative and will be adjusted before launch. After all, the Galaxy S25 Ultra (and likely the entire Galaxy S25 lineup) will exclusively launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy and Samsung has plenty of time to work with Qualcomm for last-minute optimizations, before the trio launches in early 2025.
