Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra seemingly beaten on Geekbench by rival Android flagship
A second 'next-gen Snapdragon 8-series' device has apparently sneaked onto Geekbench ahead of its supposedly imminent launch, with the same base clock (3.53GHz) and code-name (sun) as the "Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra" from an earlier leak.
However, the more recent entrant has a top speed of 4.32GHz (in 2 of its 8 cores), as opposed to 4.47GHz in the alleged S24 Ultra successor with the same 2+6 lay-out for its "Qualcomm ARMv8" cores.
Embarrassingly enough for the alleged S25-series flagship, the device that is slightly worse on paper has posted better results on the benchmark, going so far as to exceed 10,000 in dual-core scores whereas the Samsung device did not.
Then again, the new and apparently super-charged challenger has 16GB of RAM while the "S25 Ultra" had 12GB.
It might be identified as the iQOO 13, going by the "vivo V2408A" model number from a previous tip. If so, it runs Android 15 (possibly OriginOS 15) in its new leak.
All in all, it seems the 13 is using a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 while the S25 Ultra has one for the 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (or "SM8750P"). However, one is apparently getting more out of its cutting-edge hardware than the other at this point.
