Tipster confidently confirms a big upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 Ultra sometime in early 2025. This upcoming Android flagship has recently made its Geekbench debut, and two of the listings suggested that it won't be seeing an upgrade in terms of memory. However, Ice Universe, a reputed tipster, says otherwise.
In the latest post on X, Ice Universe says that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is "100% confirmed" to have a variant with 16 GB of RAM. This suggests that it's the lower-end variant that has made its debut on Geekbench, and the alleged upper-end configuration is yet to be listed on the benchmark platform.
Ice Universe hasn't offered any further details, but it's believed that the RAM bump would make the Galaxy S24 Ultra finally bridge the memory gap between the flagships from manufacturers like OnePlus and Google. The Pixel 9 series, especially the Pro models, has already seen this spec bump.
OnePlus, on the other hand, has been offering options with more than 12 GB of RAM since the OnePlus 11. The current-gen flagship from the company even maxes out at 24 GB. Samsung, on the other hand, offered 16 GB RAM configurations for the S20 Ultra and S21 Ultra, but it has been sticking to 12 GB since then (S24 Ultra with 256 GB storage curr. $1,049.99 on Amazon).
It's expected that the higher amount of RAM would make the memory-hungry Galaxy AI features run a bit better on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. As for the vanilla S25 and S25 Plus, @theonecid reports that they will be maxing out at 12 GB of RAM. So, the other models may not see an upgrade in this regard.
