iQOO 13 tipped to launch with brighter, better screen than OnePlus 13

OnePlus is projected to go up to 13 with its flagship Android smartphones later in 2024 - as is its sister brand iQOO. However, the more up-to-date display technology might be exclusive to the latter, according to famed leaker Digital Chat Station.

The tipster asserts that iQOO will get BOE's latest light-emitting technology for mobile OLED panels, touted to enhance their longevity by up to 33% by bringing power consumption down by 10% compared to their predecessors.

Nevertheless, the new tech should also boost the iQOO 13's "global" brightness by up to 12.5% compared to the 12 (which might make for a peak brightness of up to 3,375 nits in the newer device).

The new development might also reduce the risk of burn-in by up to 50%. It is touted to be even more up-to-date than that of the OnePlus 13's display, which would be a successor to that of the Ace 3 Pro, currently hyped to boast the latest in BOE luminance technology.

It may also have to contend with a new iQOO flagship of IP68-rated durability to go with its ~6,000mAh battery. Then again, OnePlus' 13 might be able to hit back by having the most RAM of the 2 devices.

In addition, there may be some doubt as to whether its iQOO counterpart will launch with the same high-end 2K resolution. 

Nevertheless, the iQOO 13 is also now tipped to match its predecessor in terms of international availability by joining it on Amazon India at a similar starting price of INR ~55,000 (~$657).
