Vivo X200 Pro mini: Executive reveals Apple iPhone 16 Pro rival amid camera specs rumours for new compact flagship
Vivo has not released any X200 series smartphones yet. However, it seems that the company will be switching up its flagship offering this time around. To recap, Vivo revealed the X100 and X100 Pro in November, before introducing the X100s, X100s Pro and X100 Ultra (curr. $925 on Amazon) six months later.
By contrast, it appears as though the company intends to announce three new flagship smartphones this side of 2025. Although the company has not started teasing anything publicly yet, an executive has revealed that Vivo has created a model called the 'X200 Pro mini', seemingly as an iPhone 16 Pro rival. As is often the case, the executive has posted from the device on Weibo, rather than discussing the Vivo X200 Pro mini directly.

Currently, the X200 Pro mini is expected to line up with the LYT-818 as its primary camera, which Sony has just announced. For reference, the LYT-818 has a 50 MP native resolution with a 1/1.28-inch optical format. Thus, the LYT-818 would replace the IMX989 found in the X100 Pro, which has a 1-inch type optical format.
Theoretically, the LYT-818 would represent a downgrade on the IMX989. With that being said, the former is said to compensate for its smaller sensor size with a wider dynamic range (86 dB) and a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Moreover, the stacked CMOS sensor utilises a 22 nm manufacturing process to reduce power consumption when providing real-time HDR previews. As it stands, the X200 Pro mini is anticipated to arrive on October 14 in China alongside the X200 and X200 Pro.
