New OtterBox wireless power bank with MagSafe launched for use in hazardous environments
OtterBusiness has unveiled its latest product, the OtterBox Wireless Power Bank with MagSafe, designed specifically for use in hazardous environments. This power bank claims to be the first UL Solutions certified portable power bank for hazardous locations and is compatible with the OtterBusiness Defender Series Division 2 iPhone cases.
The 5,000 mAh power bank is engineered to meet the needs of workers in industries such as manufacturing and energy - a portable solution for charging iPhones in hazardous environments. Certified for use in Class I, Division 2; Class II, Division 2; and Class III locations, it provides improved safety with no open ports, reducing the risk of sparks in hazardous areas. For reference, Class I, Division 2; Class II, Division 2; and Class III locations are hazardous areas where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present under abnormal conditions. The power bank also features an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance and includes 4ft drop protection (MIL-STD 810G).
Workers can attach the power bank to their iPhone using MagSafe technology, allowing for efficient charging on the go. It can also charge both the power bank and iPhone simultaneously when connected to a MagSafe power source. LED indicators provide charge status and battery life information, and a secure clip is present to make sure that the power bank stays attached if the user has to move around a lot in the field.
The PR Newswire report doesn't mention the pricing of the power bank - we can expect an announcement regarding the same soon.
