Otterbox' latest iPhone cases are made with Cactus Leather because why not
Otterbox has partnered with Mexican material pioneer brand Desserto to present the OEM's first-ever accessories containing a leather substitute derived from cacti. The companies assert that the raw material is only taken from the mature pads of the plant known as nopali, harvested as a result of a sustainable, organic and largely irrigation-independent process.
Symmetry Series Cactus Leather cases are thus touted as "the desert’s rarest bloom" with "durability built into its DNA", as it is rated to survive drops of 3 times the height of a MIL-STD-810H-rated counterpart.
It is also backed to look as good as the traditional animal-based thing in Luxe Purple, Noir Ash (black), Rich Adobe (brown) and Cactus Grove (green) colors .
The new series' cases have been released to fit the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, all of which are compatible with accessories such as the OtterBox MagSafe Wireless Charging Pad as found on Amazon and cost $59.98.
Symmetry Series Cactus Leather also comes in the form of $39.95 straps in 2 sizes, 1 of which fits Apple Watches of the 38-41mm case size, while the other fits their up-to-45mm counterparts.
