OtterBox may be most often recognized as a mobile accessories OEM; however, it is at E3 right now to introduce a new addition to its gaming line. The new Power Swap system seeks to keep an Xbox gamer in fully-loaded controllers at all times, in a way that revolves around a new power cradle.
However, unlike many products along these lines, this dock is not for the entire controller, but for its batteries. It comes with 2 of these, made by Otterbox in accordance with Microsoft's Designed for Xbox program's requirements. Therefore, the OEM asserts that they are crafted so as to enable deft one-handed switching whenever one battery dies.
The Power Swap Controller Batteries are also accompanied by a cage for either Xbox Series X|S or One controllers and a reserve cell. This allows for a warning light for whenever one of these swaps comes up, and for the peripheral in question to remain active and synced for up to 30 seconds while a battery is replaced.
Meanwhile, the cradle keeps its 2 backup batteries charged via USB type C to A cable. OtterBox thus insists the entire Power Swap Controller Battery system might keep a session going indefinitely. It will be priced at US$59.99 on its June 15, 2021 launch via the OEM's website.
