Garmin brings new features to Venu 2, Venu 2s and Venu 2 Plus smartwatches through new CIQ System 7 update

Garmin has finally brought a new stable update to its Venu 2 smartwatches. For context, the company has been steadily offering beta updates to the Venu 2, Venu 2s and Venu 2 Plus (curr. $299.99 - renewed on Amazon) in the last few months. Most recently, Garmin rolled out Beta 19.03, the first v19 software of any kind for the Venu 2 platform.

By contrast, Garmin has left the Venu 2 series' stable software distribution branch running Software Version 17.04 since the start of the year. However, it has now finalised its first v19 update for Venu 2 series smartwatches running stable builds, which it is distributing as Software Version 19.05. Incidentally, while Garmin did not release any equivalent public beta build, Software Version 19.05 appears to have the same changelog as Beta 19.03.

As such, Garmin reports that Software Version 19.05 addresses 'various bugs'. Unfortunately, it has not elaborated on what bug fixes have been resolved. The same goes for unspecified improvements, which Garmin also refers to in the same changelog line. Consequently, the biggest change for the Venu 2 series with Software Version 19.05 is the introduction of CIQ System 7 support; please see our dedicated article discussing CIQ System 7 for the new features it brings to Garmin's smartwatches.
