Garmin beta version 16.02 has arrived for the Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. The latest update is the first in the 16.xx series, following stable update version 15.08. Like the older public update, this beta release brings a range of bug fixes to the wearables.
The change log notes that a problem with the Battery Saver watch face has been resolved, ensuring it shows the correct time. A bug relating to the Health Monitoring app, which caused the inReach screen to be shown after use, has been fixed, and Garmin has dealt with an issue where data is not displayed on the activity summary page. Problems with truncated data, such as the Bouldering rest time and the Strength activity timer, are sorted, as is the cutting off of high and low temperature data on the Morning Report page.
The beta version 16.02 is only available to side load and will not be pushed to wearables OTA at this time. Instinct 2 series beta testers can now download the update from the Garmin forum, where the company also details how to report bugs and what to do if your watch freezes or crashes. If you wish to join the beta program, you can sign up via Garmin Connect.
