Huawei is rolling out updates to two of its smartwatches, the Watch 3 series and the recently launched Watch Fit 3. While the Watch Fit 3 receives a new version of HarmonyOS 4.2, the Watch 3 remains on HarmonyOS 3 for now.
Version 3.0.0.174(C432E4R1P4) for the Watch 3 Series is 278MB in size. The release notes state that only one change is made with the software, a more stable system in “some situations”. Unfortunately, Huawei has not listed where users might find these improvements. It is also unclear whether or when Huawei could roll out a HarmonyOS 4.2 update to this wearable. Other models which have already received the latest version of the OS include the Watch Ultimate and the Watch GT 4.
The update for the Huawei Watch Fit 3 is less exciting. Version 4.2.0.150(C00M00) appears identical to version 4.2.0.139(C00M00), which we covered earlier in May. The changelog notes the same two optimizations, enhancing display layouts and improving system stability. You will be able to download the latest updates via the Huawei Health app. However, it is unclear whether they are already available to all users or are rolling out more slowly in phases.
