Huawei releases first update for new Watch Fit 3
Huawei has released an update for the new Watch Fit 3. The model arrived in Europe earlier this year as a smartwatch similar in appearance to an Apple Watch, with health-tracking features and Bluetooth calling. Now, some users are reporting that they have received software version 4.2.0.139(C00M00).
The change log for this HarmonyOS 4.2 update is relatively short, noting two optimizations. Firstly, Huawei says it has refreshed the appearance of various user interfaces, though it does not detail what has changed. Also, the system stability has been improved in "certain situations"; again, further information about what has been enhanced is missing. The update is 442 MB in size and will be available to download via the Huawei Health app.
Huawei recommends that users ensure they have the latest version of the app installed before they start the update process and ensure that the Bluetooth connection between the smartwatch and phone is not broken at any time. It is unclear whether or not this is a phased rollout and when all users can expect to receive the software. The Watch Fit 3 is not the only smartwatch from the brand running on the new HarmonyOS 4.2; Huawei has already started to roll out versions of the software to the Watch GT 4 and Watch Ultimate globally.
