The updates just keep coming for the Fenix 7 series, as well as for Enduro 2, Marq 2, Quatix 7 and Epix 2 (curr. $697.99 on Amazon) smartwatches. Earlier this week, Garmin rolled out Beta Version 17.19 for devices enrolled on its Beta Program. To recap, the update made minimal improvements from Beta Version 17.17.
Now, the company has issued Beta Version 17.20 with the promise of a battery drain fix that users have reported existing since at least Beta Version 17.16. In the former's changelog, Garmin implies that connecting a Fenix 7 or equivalent to an external sensor could have caused excessive battery drain on beta builds before Beta Version 17.20. However, the new update is said to resolve this bug entirely.
Additionally, Beta Version 17.20 should fix an issue that could result in a shutdown when using the Find My Phone service. On top of that, the changelog states that Beta Version 17.20 includes updated translations. With that being said, it has not provided any other details about this change. Also, it is worth noting that Garmin has not mentioned anything about addressing broken power profiles, which some Beta Program participants have mentioned in Garmin's Community Discussion channel.
