Leaker Roland Quandt has revealed a retailer listing for ASUS' first Snapdragon X-powered laptop. To recap, the company has already confirmed it will be presenting its first Snapdragon X effort on May 20. Additionally, it left a teaser within its press release that the laptop would be a new version of the Vivobook S 15 OLED, AMD versions of which it started selling Europe earlier this month.
As the screenshots below show, ASUS Vietnam and several European retailers published listings ahead of schedule that have since been taken down. However, not only does Google still provide glimpses of these listings, but Quandt also managed to capture a screenshot of one ASUS Vietnam product page before it was hidden. Accordingly, all the listings confirm that ASUS has assigned the new Vivobook S 15 OLED the model number 'S5507QA', with different suffixes added to denote its chipset variant.
Moreover, these product pages suggest that ASUS has prepared a Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-78-100) model with 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a 70 Wh battery. On top of that, the laptop will feature an OLED display that spans 15.6-inches across while outputting in 2.8K (2,880 x 1,620) with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Surprisingly, this variant is significantly more expensive than its AMD counterpart, release details of which we have covered separately.
Furthermore, ASUS intends to sell a Snapdragon X1 Plus model with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. As a result, this model should be significantly cheaper than its Snapdragon X Elite counterpart. Incidentally, ASUS Vietnam states that the former relies upon the X1P-42-100, an unreleased Snapdragon X Plus chipset that is rumoured to be a weaker alternative to the X1P-64-100 that Qualcomm has announced. Please see our earlier article for more details about the X1P-42-100 and a possible server-grade chipset.
