Garmin releases new Fenix 7 smartwatch software before new stable update
Garmin is wasting no time in bringing new improvements to the Epix 2, Enduro 2, Fenix 7, Marq 2 and Quatix 7 (curr. $599.99 on Amazon). A few days ago, the company released Beta Version 17.17, which patched three outstanding bugs and introduced a new feature. For reference, Beta Version 17.17 replaced Beta Version 17.16, a more considerable update Garmin pushed last week to smartwatches enrolled in its Beta Program.
Now, it has offered up Beta Version 17.19, which can be downloaded now as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Please note that Garmin is currently excluding 'Pro' branded smartwatches from downloading Beta Version 17.19, as was also the case with Beta Version 17.17. On top of that, electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality remains disabled on Beta Version 17.19, which indicates that there more beta builds are on the way before Garmin issues a new stable update.
With that being said, the release of Beta Version 17.16, Beta Version 17.17 and Beta Version 17.19 within a week of each other suggests that Garmin is edging closer to finalising its first stable update for the Epix 2, Enduro 2, Fenix 7, Marq 2 and Quatix 7 since Software Version 16.22. Likewise, the inclusion of 'updated translations' and a bug fix for an issue 'where a messenger message could fail to send' imply that the company is close to considering its Beta Version 17.1x software development Release Candidate-worthy.
