The Huawei Watch Fit 3 has launched as the company's new budget-friendly smartwatch. With a starting price of Є159 (around $171), it's cheaper than the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen 40 mm GPS curr. $189 on Amazon). However, Huawei has packed more features that make the new wearable aim to offer a better experience.
Among all the standouts, Huawei highlights the fashion-forward nature of the Watch Fit 3. While the predecessor came with a rectangular body, the new smartwatch shifts to a square-faced housing. This makes it look very similar to Apple's smartwatches, but that's not the only design cue the company borrowed from Apple.
Alongside that, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 has a similar digital crown and button placement on the side. Now, while it does look like an Apple Watch copy, there are a lot of things that make it different. First of all, it offers more fitness and health features than the most affordable smartwatch from Apple. For example, there's a SpO2 function, which you won't find in the Watch SE.
Then, the Watch Fit 3 brings a Hybrid AMOLED display that sports a peak brightness rating of 1500 nits. The Apple Watch SE, on the other hand, can go up to 1000 nits. Huawei says that this screen, combined with the improved user interface, aims to deliver an easy touch-screen navigation.
Moreover, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 doubles down on battery life. The new smartwatch promises up to 10 days of runtime. It also has a quick charging feature that can offer an all-day battery with just 10 minutes of charge.
But, even with all these advantages, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 isn't a perfect fit for the Apple ecosystem. After all, it runs on a proprietary operating system. There's no mention of app support either. However, with its Є159 starting price tag, it stands as a good smartwatch for those looking for a fashionable wearable with comprehensive health and fitness features.
