Huawei launches Watch 4 Pro Space Edition outside China

Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Edition made its official debut in China in April of this year. As initially speculated, the company has indeed brought the special edition smartwatch outside the Chinese market. It’s now available in the European markets with a launch price of €649 (around $699).

As we reported on the Chinese launch coverage, the Space Edition comes with an improved build quality than the regular Watch 4 Pro. The special edition of the smartwatch has an “aerospace-grade build” and sports a “diamond-like carbon coating.” This adds higher wear resistance and promises long-lasting durability.

Moreover, the design of the Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Edition lives up to its name. The smartwatch comes with a red-black bezel that’s made of nanocrystalline ceramic. It’s inspired by the de Laval nozzle, which is the basic shape of the rocket engine.

However, there are some aspects that are the same as the regular Huawei Watch 4 Pro. That includes the 1.5-inch AMOLED LTPO screen with 466 x 466 pixels resolution. But the Space Edition does offer feature upgrades. For example, there’s Health Overview 2.0, which provides a mini health report that considers eight key indicators.

Besides, the Watch 4 Pro Space Edition aims to deliver precise heart monitors through TrueSeen 5.5+. Huawei claims that it offers a 15% accurate improvement and brings support for “round-the-clock” SpO2 detection. TrueSeen 5.5+ also sees accuracy improvement in skin temperature, sleep breathing, ECG analysis, and more.

In addition, the Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Edition brings an exclusive Laval watch face that matches the space-inspired aesthetics of the smartwatch. Like the overall design, this watch face is also inspired by the de Laval nozzle, with an animation that shows the nozzle firing.

There’s another watch face called Star Explorer. It’s space-themed and offers the users customizations according to their star sign. Other highlights of the smartwatch are the same as the regular Watch 4 Pro (available on Amazon). That includes up to 21 days of battery life, NFC support, a built-in speaker and microphone for taking calls, and a 5 ATM waterproof rating.
