Garmin announces Fenix 6 stable update with new features and dozens of bug fixes

The change log notes that Garmin has added the ability to check for updates via Bluetooth and a device settings backup and restore function. There is support for a 100Hz sensor rate for CIQ apps and a rating tool for all CIQ types. Plus, for winter sports, you can now track splits for Skiing, and the display of activity summaries for Skiing and Snowboarding has been improved. Problems resolved include an issue where alarm tones would not activate and a bug that caused the “Safety Features Enabled” notification to remain on display. Also included with system software 27.00 are Sensor Hub 22.10 and a text update. You can find the full release notes below.

In the post on the Garmin Forum, the team indicated that this was a phased release, noting that only 10% of smartwatches had received the new software so far; it is still being determined when the rollout will be complete. The update should be automatically pushed to the Fenix 6 and related wearables as it becomes available.
