The TCL QM8 is a new high-end model in the brand's 2024 line-up, now on sale in the US. There are four display sizes on offer, from 65-inch to 98-inch. Plus, a larger 115-inch model is on the way, with a slightly different model name of QM89.
The QM8 is a QD-Mini LED Ultra model with up to 5,000 dimming zones, more than double that of its predecessor. According to TCL, the TV offers a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, making it 2.5 times brighter than the older model. The display has a 120Hz native refresh rate, variable up to 144Hz, and supports Dolby Vision IQ, HRR10+ and HLG. The anti-glare screen helps to reduce reflections, and gaming tools include ALLM and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility. On top of that are features such as built-in 2.1.2 channel speakers from Onkyo, the Google TV interface and Wi-Fi 6 support.
The 65-inch TCL QM8 QLED 4K Smart Google TV retails for $1,499.99, and the 98-inch model is priced at $5,999.99; a complete price list is available below. This puts it at the top end of TCL's 2024 TV range for the US, above the QM7. Whether or when the model could launch in other regions like Europe is unclear.
