Hisense announces new S100 Pro TV with 144Hz refresh rate
Hisense has launched another TV in China: the Vidda NEW S100 Pro. The 4K model shares many similarities with the 2024 100U76N, part of the brand's new U7 range, launched in the US earlier this year. As its name suggests, the LED Backlight LCD model is a larger device with a 100" display.
The S100 Pro's backlight offers 192 local dimming zones, 64 fewer than are available for the U76N. While both Hisense TVs have a 144Hz refresh rate, the S100 Pro has a 240 motion rate, but the U76N has a 480 motion rate. The latest model covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space, supporting Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. Plus, an RGB light sensor allows the TV's brightness to adjust intelligently. Another difference comes with the OS, with the S100 Pro using Vidda, also seen in European models, rather than Google TV, which is used for products designed for the US market.
Other features of the latest TV are MEMC, ALLM and voice commands, alongside built-in 2.1 channel speakers. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as ports like HDMI 2.1 (4K@144Hz) and USB 3.0. You can now buy the Hisense Vidda NEW S100 Pro in China for 7,999 yuan (~$1,120). Given that the U76N is already on sale in North America, it is unlikely that the Hisense Vidda NEW S100 Pro will reach this region.
