Acer announces new Vero HL6810 hybrid projectors with football mode
Acer has announced two new smart laser projectors in its Vero HL68 Series. The Acer Vero HL6810 and HL6810ATV are both designed for the home theater. The projectors have a hybrid laser and LED light source, delivering up to 4,000 ANSI lumens brightness, with an expected lifetime of up to 30,000 hours.
The new HL68 devices are said to have a 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) resolution, supporting HDR10 and HLG. The throw ratio is between 1.15 and 1.5, allowing you to cast a 100-inch (~250 cm) image from 2.5 m (~8.2 ft) away. Plus, the projectors offer a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 105% Rec.709 color gamut coverage. A Football mode optimizes the image for a larger projection size and is described as making the picture “more realistic and vivid”. Other features include a built-in 10W speaker, BlueLight Shield technology, 1.3x zoom, horizontal and vertical keystone and four-corner correction tools.
The HL6810ATV has an Android TV dongle, allowing you to stream content from popular platforms like Disney+, YouTube and Netflix. Ports on both devices include HDMI 2.0b (Video, Audio, HDCP, audio return), USB-A 2.0, audio out and RS232, and there are various control options like built-in buttons, a remote, your smartphone or voice commands. The Acer Vero HL6810 and Acer Vero HL6810ATV projectors will launch in EMEA for €1,599 and €1,699, respectively. The HL6810ATV will arrive in June, with the second model following in August. It is unclear when the model could go on sale in other regions like North America.
