Anker Nebula Capsule Air new portable projector could be on the way
Anker appears to have teased a new projector, the Nebula Capsule Air. The model was seen in a short video in an X post found on June 4th, which has since been deleted. It appears to have a similar design to the Nebula Capsule 3, launched last year, around the size and shape of a soda can.
The video of the Nebula Capsule Air contained the slogan “World’s Smallest GTV Projector launching tomorrow”. This claim was previously used to market the Capsule 3, and the launch did not occur on June 5th. However, the projector shown in the video is white, whereas the older model has a black casing, which suggests it is a different device which could launch in the future. Other evidence suggesting this is a new model is a test report filed with the FCC, with an issue date of May 20th. These documents and Reddit leaks indicate that the Capsule Air is a DLP model with a 720p resolution; for reference, the Capsule 3 is a 1080p device.
The new projector is said to throw images up to 100” (~250 cm) wide, with a 33.48Wh battery allowing it to run for up to two hours. Connectivity options are expected to be Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi, and the product comes with the Netflix app pre-installed. The model allegedly measures 6.86 × 6.86 × 13.97 cm (~2.7 x 2.7 x 5.5 inches) and weighs 1.05 kg (~2.3 lbs), making it smaller but heavier than the Capsule 3. Further details, such as brightness level and charging time have yet to be provided. It is unclear whether or when the Anker Nebula Capsule Air could launch, or how much it would cost. As an indication, the Nebula Capsule 3 retails for $549.99/€499.99.
