Hisense unveils new Starlight S1 Pro Laser TV with up to 100-inch foldable screen
Hisense has launched the Starlight S1 Pro Laser TV in China. The product was teased in a Weibo post earlier this month and was unveiled at the 2024 Hisense TV New Product Launch Conference event on June 12th.
The Starlight S1 Pro is a 4K laser TV in four sizes: 75-inch, 80-inch, 88-inch and 100-inch. Each model uses the Hisense LPU digital laser engine, delivering between 400 and 450 nit peak brightness. With RBG lasers, the devices are said to cover 151% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with 10-bit color depth, support for IMAX Enhanced and a Filmmaker Mode. The picture is intelligently perfected with automatic focus and screen alignment tools thanks to dual AI cameras. The Android 11 gadget offers a range of ports such as two HDMI, one with eARC, RJ45 and USB, and, as this is a laser TV, the projector is accompanied by the ultra-thin Foldable Screen 2.0.
On top of that, the laser TV has built-in Harman Kardon speakers, 2.1 channels for the 75-inch model and 2.1.2 for the larger sizes, supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. You can now order the Hisense Starlight S1 Pro Laser TV in China, with prices ranging from 9,999 yuan (~$1,380) for the 75-inch model to 26,999 yuan (~$3,725) for the 100-inch version. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether or when these products could roll out to other markets like the US, where Hisense sells models like PL1 Ultra Short Throw Home Theater Smart Projector.
