The BenQ W5800 4K laser projector is officially on sale in more countries globally. The model launched in India earlier this year, with some third-party retailers in Europe accepting pre-orders.
Now, customers in the US can purchase the W5800 directly from BenQ for $5,999. Plus, in Australia, the company is selling the projector for AU$8,999, with the option to add the BenQ CM00G3 Universal Ceiling Mount for an extra AU$242, bringing the total cost to AU$9,241. The device is said to deliver an accurate picture offering CinematicColor with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 and Rec.709 color gamuts for images up to 200 inches (~510 cm) wide. Plus, the proprietary HDR-PRO Tone Mapping technology enhances contrast for a detailed picture.
The W5800’s laser light source provides up to 2,600 ANSI lumens brightness, with a 20,000-hour expected lifetime. Other features include Filmmaker Mode, 1.6x motorized zoom, and ports like S/PDIF and HDMI eARC/ARC for 7.1-channel audio with Dolby Atmos. It is unclear when BenQ will officially launch the device in Europe, where it can currently be ordered via Pure Theatre for £4,599 and Cine-Craft for €4,999. The delivery estimates from these retailers suggest that customers will receive the projector in two to three weeks.
