Updated | BenQ W5800 4K laser projector for home cinema now available
The BenQ W5800 4K home cinema projector has been launched in India. Specifically designed for a home theater set-up, the projector has a maximum recommended image size of 200-inch (~500 cm). With support for HDR10+, the device delivers a clear and brightly colored image, according to BenQ.
The W5800 has up to 2,600 lumens brightness from a laser light source, which is expected to last for 20,000 hours. The projector covers 100% of the DCI-P3 and Rec.709 color gamuts and is calibrated for Delta E <1 color accuracy. You can perfect the image with vertical and horizontal lens shifts and 1.6x motorized zoom. Other features include Filmmaker Mode and HDR-PRO technology for advanced tone mapping. The projector does not have built-in speakers, but an external sound system can be connected via S/PDIF and HDMI ARC/eARC port, supporting Dolby Atmos pass-through.
Other ports include USB-A, RS-232, and LAN. Plus, the brand suggests its new model runs quietly, generating 27 to 30 dB noise. The new BenQ W5800 projector can be bought in India for Rs 6,50,000 (~$ $7,850). It is unclear whether the company plans to launch its latest model in other markets like North America and Europe.
Update: ProjectorScreen.com suggests that the BenQ W5800 will launch in the US this May.
