Monitor-mounted lamps that illuminate the desk without causing glare are becoming increasingly popular. BenQ is hoping to outdo the competition with its new ScreenBar Pro, as the lamp not only achieves a brightness of 1,000 lux, but also a high color fidelity of 2,700 to 6,500 Kelvin, depending on whether the user prefers warm or cool light.
While cheap LEDs often omit the red color spectrum, which can make objects appear paler, BenQ installs a full-spectrum LED chip intended to achieve a particularly high CRI. According to BenQ, the LED has a service life of 17 years. The ScreenBar Pro can be mounted on all monitors that are between 4.3 mm and 6.5 cm thick and curved to a maximum radius of 1,000R.
A special feature of the ScreenBar Pro is the integrated ToF sensor, which works as a motion sensor. This allows the light to switch on automatically when someone approaches the monitor and switch off again as soon as they leave the desk. The ambient light sensor allows the brightness to be adjusted automatically. Power is supplied via USB-C: at least 15 watts of power is required to supply the ScreenBar Pro with energy.
