Nitecore has announced a new flashlight, the M2TC Pro, that comes with a USB charging option and a long range. In contrast to many recent releases, it comes with a rechargeable battery, which Nitecore also supplies.
Compared to the M2TC, Nitecore has significantly improved the lumen and range: the light flux has increased from 390 to 1,800 lumens and the range from 168 to 520 meters. The flashlight has a switch on the back, but can still be placed on the switch side to illuminate a room indirectly via the ceiling, for example.
When switching on the flashlight, it always starts in the highest mode and can be subsequently reduced to 50 lumens, which should help in emergencies. Nitecore specifies a runtime of 2:15 hours. In 50 lumen mode, this increases to 28 hours.
The MT2C Pro uses an 18650 battery as its power source, which has a capacity of 13 watt hours (3,[email protected]) and is charged via USB-C. However, the flashlight itself does not have a charging mechanism. Instead, the battery must be removed and the USB-C port on the included battery (NL1836R) used to recharge the battery.
Alternatively, two CR123A or RCR123A can be installed. However, the performance data then decreases drastically, as the table at the end of this article shows.
The IP68 flashlight weighs 114 grams and is around 12 cm long. It weighs 64 grams without the battery. Nitecore is yet to announce a price.
