JVC reveals new premium D-ILA home theater projectors supporting 8K
JVC has revealed a range of new premium 4K home theater projectors. The models include the DLA-NZ900, the DLA-NZ800, the DLA-RS4200 and the DLA-RS3200. The DLA-NZ900 and the DLA-RS4200 have the same features, but the latter features a thin decorative gold ring around the lens. Likewise, the DLA-NZ800 and the DLA-RS3200 are almost identical, with a thicker gold band around the lens of the RS3200.
All four projectors feature third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA technology for improved image quality compared to older models like the DLA-NZ9. There is also greater contrast, with a 150,000:1 or 100,000:1 native contrast ratio for the NZ900/RS4200 and NZ800/RS3200, respectively. While the NZ800 has a 65 mm lens for an up to 200-inch image, the NZ900 has a 100 mm lens and a larger maximum projection size of 300 inches. The new BLU-Escent Laser delivers a maximum brightness of 3,300 lumens for the NZ900 or 2,700 lumens for the NZ800 and lasts for up to 20,000 hours. Plus, 8K/e-shiftX Gen 2 allows an 8K60p input, or you can opt for 4K120p input with a low latency mode suited to gaming.
Other features include support for HDR10+, a Deep Black tool, Filmmaker Mode, and a new Vivid Picture Mode. Plus, ports on the device include HDMI (48Gbps, HDCP2.3) and USB-A for firmware updates. The JVC DLA-NZ900/DLA-RS4200 and DLA-NZ800/DLA-RS3200 projectors will retail for $26,000 and $16,000, respectively, and are due to ship in June.
