Roborock Qrevo S robot vacuum launches as more powerful model
The Roborock Qrevo S robot vacuum and mop has been launched in the US. Also known as the Q Revo S, the model joins the Qrevo and the Qrevo MaxV, with the latter launching earlier this year.
The Qrevo S has 7,000 Pa suction power, matching the MaxV, more than the 5,500 Pa offered by the original Qrevo. Like its predecessors, the S offers a main rubber brush and dual spinning mops, automatically lifted when the carpet is detected. Downgrades compared to the MaxV include the lack of a FlexiArm mop for edge-to-edge cleaning and no Intelligent Dirt Detection, which adjusts the cleaning when a buildup is found. The robot uses LDS laser navigation alongside obstacle avoidance technology to easily move around your house and is suited to an area of around 330 m² (~3,550 ft²). Controls are offered via the Roborock app, an Apple Watch app and an iPhone widget.
The accompanying docking station is identical to the MaxV's, slightly shorter than the original model, and offers faster charging. When it arrives at the dock, the robot’s mops will be automatically washed and dried with warm air, while the water tank is replenished and the dustbin emptied. Roborock says the smart docking station allows up to seven weeks of hands-free cleaning. You can now buy the Roborock Qrevo S in the US for $799.99, making it $100 cheaper than the Q Revo ($899) and $600 less than the Q Revo Max V ($1,399.99). Whether or when the model could launch in other markets like Europe remains unclear.
