The launch of the Galaxy Watch7 series is still a while off yet. For reference, Samsung is currently expected to deliver next-generation smartwatches in early July alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6. Nonetheless, TechManiacs claims to have obtained new information about the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra, only a few days after @OnLeaks provided a first look at the rumoured smartwatch.
Allegedly, Samsung could market the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra as the Galaxy Watch X. However, it is worth stressing that TechManiacs has not provided any evidence to verify this claim. At any rate, the website states the smartwatch will deliver up to 100 hours of battery life, which would surpass any Galaxy Watch that Samsung has released to date running Wear OS. For context, Samsung advertises the Galaxy Watch5 Pro (curr. $129.99 - renewed on Amazon) as lasting up to 80 hours on its 590 mAh battery.
Based on an earlier leak, the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra will ship with a battery that could near 600 mAh, with battery life improvements mainly stemming from the inclusion of a more efficient Exynos W1000 chipset. The Galaxy Watch7 Ultra is said to offer 10 ATM water resistance too, which would be an improvement over the 5 ATM coverage that other recent Galaxy Watch smartwatches provide. The improved battery capacity and water resistance will coincide with the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra being 16.4 mm thick though, or 5.9 mm and 56% thicker than the Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
